The Iris Garden in Florence (Giardino dell'Iris) has been open to public for a moth already is opened; it’s the only botanical garden in Europe dedicated solely to irises. It has got dozens of varieties of irises brought from around the world, the number of which reaches 15 thousand flowers of different colors; however, it has also preserved some varieties from old collections.
According to media, you can walk in the Garden of Iris between the flower carpets, sit by the pond, created for growing water kinds of irises, and admire the dome of Brunelleschi at the Fiesole hill background.
The entrance to the Iris Garden located near Piazzale Michelangelo is completely free-of-charge. Until May 20, the garden is open every day from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 19:00.
