Nobody will want to go to the hospital of their own free will, and even during the holidays, but for the Venetian hospital it is something that makes an exception. The hospital is located in a 15th century building, so rich in decor that it looks like a wedding cake. This building is the most attractive of all in Saint Giovanni Square. Passing a grand hall with a marble floor, you will come out to an ancient monastery and gardens.
It’s been recently that the first floor of the hospital and the medical library with a stunning collection of historical medical instruments and illustrations, as well as a collection of reproductions of paintings by Bellini, Donato and Tintoretto were open to the public.
