The Berlin Wall has divided the city into two parts for almost 30 years. Now this wall has been preserved as a reminder of the strength, reunification and freedom of the people. The wall is located between the Friedirichshain and Kreuzberg areas. A month after the fall of the wall, artist called Cristine MacLean decided to paint the remaining fragments of the wall, creating a work of art 1.3 km long with satirical and interesting drawings.
This is how East Side Gallery appeared, a memorial dedicated to freedom. In the following months, Cristine was joined by more than 100 artists who painted the rest of the wall.
The gallery can be visited free of charge at any time of the day.
